What Does an Image Consultant Do?

If you’re interested in pursuing fashion as a full-time career option, there are many different routes to be considered outside of the actual design aspect, one of which being that of the image consultant.

Image consultants work with individual clients in a manner similar to, but slightly more involved than a hired personal stylist. Overall, said consultant’s goal is to not only improve the overall fashion sense and appearance of a client, but to help said individual project a more positive image.

This is typically achieved through a collaborative effort of enhancing certain agreed upon positive attributes, and attempting to minimize any potential weaknesses. For example, if a client has a reputation for being uptight and overly strict in the workplace and wishes to portray a more approachable image to his or her colleagues, an image consultant might help them select certain styles and accessories accordingly with this goal in mind.
