Booking a Car Service

In modern wedding planning, transportation is one of the most crucial elements of the logistical process. Since many couples elect to hold the actual ceremony in a different location than the reception, seamless transportation from one to the other is something that needs to be considered, and something that can’t go wrong. If the couple you’re working with would like to travel via car, here are 4 commonly forgotten things you need to discuss with your transportation vendor before you sign any contracts:

  • The pick-up location- The directions to the location need to be flawlessly clear. Ideally, your driver will be familiar with the venue if it’s a popular local location. If not, you need to be absolutely certain that he or she has complete clarity regarding where they need to be and when.
  • The number of people requiring transportation- If you are providing transportation for guests as well as the bridal party, the guest list count needs to be exact and accommodated for. You should also specify which guests will be riding in certain cars among an overall fleet. Ask for vehicle identification numbers if possible to help you stay organized on the big day.
  • A notification clause- This document is a way of ensuring that you are entitled to advanced notification if the company needs to substitute a car for any reason.
  • Additional fees- Sometimes, the price of a car service advertised online looks a lot different than the final bill once all fees are calculated. This includes everything from the groomsmen drinking limo-provided beverages to the gratuity for the drivers. If your client is working within a strict budget, things like this can add up.

With these terms clearly defined and all reasonable precautions taken, there should be little chance of surprise and disappointment on the day of the wedding.
