The New York Institute of Art and Design offers a wedding planning certification course and because we do, we like to provide free tips for wedding planners. Enjoy!
Building a website is not the typical topic you’d expect to learn about in a wedding planning course. But there are at least two different kinds of websites that wedding planners should be more than familiar with.
The first is your own site, which announces to the world and prospective clients who you are and why you’re the best. And the second, is the wedding website – the site each couple will put together and direct people to leading up to their big day.
It’s becoming more and more common for couples to want a wedding website. And there are lots of reasons for it. It’s a simple, inexpensive way to provide details and exciting updates about the wedding to their friends and family.
And as a wedding planner, you should be ready to offer websites as a part of your services.
Here are some important things to include on any wedding website:
- Location of the wedding
- Location of the reception (if different)
- Hotel and travel information, including directions to all locations
- Dates and times of important events
- Registry information
- RSVP form
- Proposal story
- Engagement photos
- Guest book
